INSTRUCTOR RACHelLe KEARL
Rachelle Kearl is a mixed media artist who uses collage, home made stencils, pastels, acrylic skins in combination with her painting. Her artwork is whimsical; sparking feelings of joy, movement, and freedom.
Her mixed media pieces explore contrasts: bold and neutral colours, hard and soft edges, representation and abstraction. She layers imagery and shapes to create visually dynamic and playful pieces.
Enamored with the beauty and resiliency of Alberta's wildflowers, Kearl takes her inspiration from their ability to thrive in dry, windy prairie conditions and bloom on the side of a busy highway. Her artwork aims to capture their enduring spirit.
